The word thobe is the standard Arabic word for 'a garment'. It is the traditional Arab dress for men. It is sometimes spelled thobe or thaub or jubba. It is a tunic, generally long. The thobe is a favoured item of clothing for western Muslims and usually worn on special occasions such as Eid and Jummah. Some prefer this dress for everyday use. The most popular colour for the thobe or jubba is white especially since this was the most favoured colour of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
